One of the spheres of the measure “National road traffic safety strategy”, as adopted by the Czech Republic Government Resolution No 364 of 28 April 2004, is the improvement in the accessibility of traffic accident locality by the integrated rescue system services.
In co-operation with the Fire Brigade, the Czech Ministry of Transport commissioned a public tender “The development of a pilot project for automatic in-vehicle emergency call service in the territory of the Czech Republic”. The subject of the public order is the pilot project development and the testing of the required functionality of the in-vehicle eCall system in the territory of the Czech Republic. In the PSAPs operated by the Czech Republic’s Fire Brigade it will be possible to identify not only the telephone number but also the mobile telephone location or, as the case be, other information relating to an extraordinary event – a traffic accident or a traffic extraordinary event. Such information will be displayed at PSAPs on digital maps.
The project started in December 2005 and is led by Czech Telecom. The work consists in an analysis phase, which ran until May 2006, followed by an implementation phase until January 2007 and 2 months of testing.
