Austria

The single pan-European emergency number 112 is operational in Austria, but it is not the only emergency number in use. The police handles the calls made to 112 and 133, and the numbers 122 for fire and 144 for ambulance are also in existence.

There are 200 level 1 and 2 PSAPs in Austria, which are mainly organised on a regional level. However, some of the dispatching centers have started public/private partnerships.

As the system overview illustrates below, Austria is currently incapable of receiving or handling E112 calls and there are no plans for 112 implementation at the present time.
