Czech Republic The single pan-European emergency number 112 is operational in the Czech Republic, but it is not the only emergency number in use and co-exists with the 150, 155 and 158 numbers. The emergency service is organised in 14 level 1 PSAPs and approximately 200 PSAPs at level 2, which is currently going through a restructuring to reduce the total number.
As the system overview illustrates below, the Czech Republic is currently capable of receiving and handling E112 calls. The location information provided by the network is transmitted to the level 1 PSAP via TCP/IP. The location information is mainly used at the level 1 PSAP to generate a GIS-map with the accident location and thereby to allocate the emergency call to the most appropriate level 2 PSAP.
