Denmark

The single pan-European emergency number 112 is operational in Denmark and is the only emergency number in use. The emergency service is organised in eight PSAPs at level 1 and three PSAPs at level 2. Although currently Denmark cannot receive and handle E112 calls, implementation is foreseen to be carried out at the end of 2005.

As the system overview illustrates below, the location information provided by the network is transmitted to the level 1 PSAP using LIF. Furthermore, location information is available in the emergency vehicles in which it can be visualized on a map.
