Germany

The single pan-European emergency number 112 is operational in Germany, but it is not the only emergency number in use. It co-exists with 110, which is the emergency number for the police. The emergency service is organised in 909 PSAPs at level 1 and approximately 47 PSAPs at level 2, which are all organised regionally and locally.

As the system overview illustrates below, Germany is currently incapable of receiving or handling E112 calls. Only the voice connection using 112 is available and moreover there is no data connection between the level 2 PSAP and emergency service vehicles.
