Slovakia

The single pan-European emergency number 112 is operational in Slovakia but it is not the only emergency number in use. It co-exists with 158 for police, 155 for ambulance and 150 for fire and rescue. There are 8 1st level PSAPs organised regionally and 221 2nd level PSAPs organised locally, privately and in public/private partnerships.

Today Slovakia is not capable of receiving and handling E112 calls, but as illustrated below, concrete implementation plans have been developed and E112 will be fully operational in 2007. However, accident location information provided through E112 will only be available at the 1st level PSAP. The communication from here down to the emergency service vehicle will be through a pure voice connection.
