Meeting with Telecom Operators on 22 June 2005 in Brussels, BelgiumThe European Commission, representatives from the DG eCall and different Telecom Operators met for the first time in Brussels on June 22 2005 for an informal meeting related to eCall.
The objectives of the meeting were to start a discussion between the European Commission, the DG eCall and the Telecom Operators regarding the eCall implementation and the involvement of Telecom Operators; and more specifically, how to develop the business model. As a results of the meeting, all participants agreed that as a first step in developing the business model, all costs related to the Telecom Operators regarding eCall must be identified first. The group agreed to have an additional working meeting on 31 August 2005 in order to create a small paper on this issue.
