CEN TC278 WG15 has made a major contribution to the progress of the roll-out and deployment of eCall. The implementation of eCall poses particular problems in that the requirements of automotive manufacturers, PSAPs, road operators and administrations, mobile network operators and the insurance sector, and for that matter the political and strategic objectives of National Governments and the EC, are all very different.
