Statement of the BMW Group in Relation to the Development, Roll out and Deployment of Intelligent Vehicle Safety Systems

The BMW Group mission is unambiguous – we want to provide premium vehicles including safety systems in order to mitigate as well as to avoid as many accidents as possible using an integral approach from driving safely to post crash services. Besides purely onboard functionalities a major asset in this area is communication including useful information to the driver. The necessary work for such services through Car2X Communication, broadcast or mobile networks has been supported by our experts for many years. Cooperation in projects and field tests, standardization work and the implementation of such functions for our customers are visible signs of our engagement.

Due to the fact that traffic safety is not only a subject for vehicle manufactures, the BMW Group also supports the work in the eSafety initiative through providing appropriate knowledge and experience to achieve effective and well accepted overall results.
