FIA Foundation

The FIA Foundation has shown outstanding leadership in promoting the role of eSafety systems in road accident prevention. The foundation has played a significant role in the global eSafety policy development and public awareness through its financial support and direct involvement in EuroNCAP, the eSafety Forum, eSafetyAware, and through the dedicated effort of bringing eSafety high on the agenda in Cars 21 and UNECE WP29. The FIA Foundation is the key financial contributor of the eSafetyAware activities and the campaigns “ChooseESC” and “eSafety On Board”. Their commitment has helped to secure that ESC will become available in all new cars by 2012. The Foundation is the main supporter behind the eSafety Challenge event promoting awareness of ESC, Lane Support Systems, Blind Spot Monitoring, Speed Alert, and Warning and Emergency Braking. eSafety has moved forward considerably in relation to European and international deployment thanks to the support of the FIA Foundation.
