Ivan Hodac, ACEA

Born in Prague in 1946. He is married and has two children.

Current position: Secretary General ACEA

Representing different associations in Brussels, he has coordinated public and corporate affairs activities in permanent contact with political decision takers.

Working for the European Automobile Manufacturers Association in Brussels since 2001 Ivan Hodac got involved in the Transport & Road Safety world from the beginning and co-founded the eSafety initiative.

Since then he promotes road safety, active and passive safety as well as ICT based intelligent systems (ITS). Under his leadership ACEA signed the road safety charter, the eCall MoU, negotiated the CARS21 action plan, co-financed EuroRAP, expanded the EUCAR R&D activities into more intelligent safety systems, etc.

Ivan is a member of the ERTICO Supervisory Board and Vice President of eSafety Aware.

As sharp analysts Ivan has never lost his sense of realism and practicability. His suggestions and ideas are well thought-out and give guidance for successful implementation.

Without Ivan, the safety landscape in Europe would definitely be different so that the eSafety AWARE Award would honor a person, who not only started the eSafety initiative, but also is fully dedicated to safety.
