Jean-Pierre Medevielle, INRETS



Deputy General Director of INRETS (the French National Research Institute for Transport and Safety Research) for the last 13 years, he graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées.


He has been research manager for the last 27 years including ICTs and transport. He served as a scientific adviser of CCETT (Centre Commun d'Études de Télévision et Télécommunications, Rennes, France) in 1985-1989 at the time of the launching of the CARMINAT EUREKA project.


For the last 15 years, he has served at the International Program Committee of ITS World Congresses and he has been sent to Canada in 1991 to prepare the ITS annex to the European Union-Canada S&T agreement.


He has been involved within ITS research international cooperation from 1999 till now with USA, Japan and Australia.


He has been Secretary General of ECTRI from January 2003 to January 2007.


He is member of the Steering Committee of the eSafety Forum and co Chair of the RTD eSafety Working Group.


He has been coordinator of HUMANIST Network of Excellence and is currently the President of the HUMANIST Association (Virtual Centre of Excellence).
