Jean-Yves Le-coz, Renault SAS

Jean-Yves le Coz is a qualified physician (specialized in physical medicine and rehabilitation) and engineer. After ten years hospital practice, he moved to road safety where he has been working for the last 22 years.

As Head of road safety policy for Renault group and Head of advanced safety projects for the last 5 years, he is directly involved in the safety evolution of brand products.

A renowned expert, he is also a university Professor and judicial expert in the roads and road safety domain. He has chaired several international working groups in this area (EUCAR - System Group Safety, EEVC - Child safety, etc.) concerning european research programmes and regulatory reforms.

Author of more than 60 international scientific articles (accidentology, biomechanics, integrated safety, safety system evaluation.), and guest or keynote speaker in over 20 international conferences (Valencia Conference, UE 2002, Fisita 2006, 6th European Conference on ITS 2007, TRA Europe 2008,.), he is also laureate of the US government award for safety engineering excellence (1998).
