FID

The Improved Impact Protection through a World Frontal Impact Dummy (FID) was a project with as general objective to contribute to the reduction in the number of serious injuries and fatalities to car occupants involved in frontal collisions. The project aimed to define the design and performance of the next generation frontal crash test dummy that can be used in European and global standards. The consortium consisted of six partners from five different European countries. An important goal of the project was to contribute to the harmonisation of safety regulations worldwide and in particular between Europe and the United States.
