PENDANT The objective of this project was to develop a new in-depth crash injury data resource to support EU policies on vehicle safety. Around 1100 investigations of crashes involving injured car occupants were planned to be conducted in EU eight countries to a common protocol based on that developed in the EC STAIRS programme. The data was expected to be enhanced by the linking of hospital and police information to provide additional data on the trends and injury patterns of over 60,000 road users of all types.
