SAFETYNET - a European Network on Process Safety

Research in areas of process safety has as its objective a reduction of the risk of an accident. However, there is a significant gap between the generation of research results and new information and their use. The SAFETYNET European Thematic Network on Process Safety was developed to:

• Discuss safety problems
• Find out about the new ideas from the results of the world-wide effort in safety research
• Learn of new safety technologies
• Be offered opportunities for the analysis and resolution of specific safety problems
• Keep abreast of new legislation and standards and how they will affect you

The activities included a monthly electronic newsletter, database and publication of information on research currently underway, sources of information on standards, regulations and legislation, and process safety articles.
